Chapter 1- Captured

Wrangler became tired of the humans and how they treated her always roping and trying to ride, one day she took her life into her own hooves" ripping the lariat from the hands of her most hated cowboy she was seen from Ponyland and the rainbow bestowed upon her a gift. She became a MY LITTLE PONY; a hat being roped became her symbol of how she overcame man, and the rope twisting around her leg reminding her of her break away from her masters....... but I am getting ahead of myself. Let's start at the beginning, in a vast beautiful valley where something was happening.....

A white pony is being born in to a wild herd. It was a beautiful spring day. She was as white as snow and had big brown eyes. A very curious pony as she grew she was always warned not to go to far. There where many dangers. As she got older she got braver and would venture farther away from the herd.
On one day everything changed. The herd was uneasy & she didn't know why. They were moving towards the mountains at a very rapid speed. Everyone was told to stay close to one another. They stopped in the mid-afternoon for a break and everyone was resting. She grew restless, she wanted to run. To chase the wind and feel the earth under her hooves but she was told to not venture far.
Something caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. She thought to herself "a quick look wont hurt. I'll be back before anyone notices." She quietly slipped away from the eyes of the look outs. As soon as she was far enough out of sight she let loose and chased the object. Not know what was to unfold next.
She cam around a bend and found the little creature that had caught her eye. It was a small and beautiful, it flew gracefully. Unknown to her it was a butterfly. She was staring at is so intently and in her own world she didn't hear the other horse appear. A strange musky smell caught her attention. The butterfly flew away & she turned her head.
Standing in front of her was a brown horse with a strange creature on top of his back. She thought this was strange. The look in the creatures eyes scared her. The other horse whinnied a warning to her. "un, Run as fast as you can and escape!"
She looked both ways to find the best escape route. She took off to her right, it was the way back to the herd. They could help her, she knew it. She bolted, pumping her legs to go as fast as the wind. She turned her head to & to her surprise the creature was not that far away. She popped her head back around and dipped it so she could pump harder begging for help and the strength to get away.
All of sudden it got quite behind her. She looked and the creature was gone. She slowed down and thought to herself. "It must have given up. I was to fast for it." She heard the herd in the distance and her heart slowed she knew she was safe.
All of sudden she heard that a warning "RUN! RUN! Don't get caught!" She whipped her head around and her eyes grew in astonishment. The creature had reappeared with more creatures like him. She knew she had to save the herd and her heart fell she knew she would never see her mother or father again.
All around her she could hear the warnings being whinnied at her. None of them wanted her to become captive like them. One last look back and then she went into the belly of the beast. Full speed she ran the horses split down the middle. She only ran a short distance when she felt something slip around her neck. It went taunt and stopped her dead in her tracks. She cried out in pain. The herd heard her. The look outs ran to the top of the cliffs & watched in horror. Wrangler cried out "No save yourself. RUN don't let them see or hear you. Go quickly, NOW!" She knew she had to create a lot of noise so these creatures would not hear the herd. She pleaded with the other horses to help her. Of course, they helped, none wanted any more of their breathren caught.
After about an hour of fighting she grew tired. The dust settled and she was exhausted. Her legs buckled and she fell to the ground. The last thing she seen was the first creature with a smile on its face. She awoke later tied to a log next to the other horses. They were all asleep but one. He whinnied softly to her to catch her attention. With sad eyes he stared at her. "Get a good night sleep, we have a short distance to travel tomorrow."
The next morning she walked with her head bowed with tears in her eyes. She was tied to the horse that she had first meet with the others surrounding her in a circle. She missed the heard and she knew she would never she her mother again. This broke her heart and she quietly sad goodbye to them all.
By sundown they had come to a strange place. The other horses called it a "ranch". It reaked of the creatures they called humans. On the trip to this place she asked a lot of questions. She hadn't learned much most of the time they kept quite. Now in what was called the "corral" they gathered around her. None had seen a horse as pure white as she was. Some found her odd & departed shortly. The few that stayed circled her not knowing what to think. After a while they were taken to their stalls by the humans. They humans left her outside but tide to a post in the center of the corral. After the ranch went dark she tugged, pulled, kicked & chewed on the rope. To no avail it wouldn't bug. Exhausted she fell asleep. The sun woke her the next morning. The humans were moving all around her but none came to untie her. A small boy came in the corral and placed 2 buckets in front of her. One had water in it but the other had a strange dry substance in it. "Go ahead and eat. I wont hurt you." said the boy. "I'm Thomas the stable boy that was put in charge of taking care of you." Never taking her eyes off of him she tried the dry stuff. To her surprise it was good. Next she got a large drink of water. Already she could feel the strength returning to her body.
"I'm gonna brush you know. I promise I wont hurt you. Please trust me." Something in his voice mad her believe him so she turned her side to him. Slowly Thomas reached out with both hands. He slowly lowered the brush and started to softly push on it. It felt so good. The wind had caked dirt into her hair and made her feel heavy. Next he did her mane and tail. "Wow your hair is sooooo long. Mr. Quinton will want it cut." In his deepest voice he said "My horse will be well groomed. Their hair cut short to keep it things out of it." She raised an eyebrow out him and shook her head. All of a sudden she smelled him. She whipped her head and glared at the human Thomas called Quinton .He was leaning on the fence looking her over. "Thomas you make sure she is the best looking horse in here. After I break her she will be mine. Cut her hair it's to long!" "Yes, sure I was just going to do that." Thomas replied. Quinton turned and walked away. "Well you sure have caught his eye. I need to go get my grooming kit be right back." Thomas told her.
When he came back he had a strange box in his hands. "I'm going to unite you. Please don't run away I would get into a lot of trouble." He untied the rope from the post. Her heart cried 'RUN, Jump over the fence you can be free,' but she didn't want Thomas to get in trouble. She knew another time would come.
Thomas took out something shiny and told her "These are my scissors. I am going to cut your hair with them. Hold still." Thomas reached for her mane.
