Chapter 24- Meeting in Kamalli/FONT>

During the night Wrangler started dreaming of the time of the past, she was standing in a field with dragons around her. Turning in every direction the land and sky were filled with them. A calm feeling filled her as she walked throughout the dragons. She giggled at the site of baby dragons nipping at there mothers feet playfully. In the sky she seen them do flying maneuvers she could only dream of doing. As she walked the dragons turned and faced her each kneeling as she passed. Wrangler did not understand why this was happening and started to feel weird. At the end of the filed stood three dragons, one similar to Talis but different. They bowed to her and motioned for her to follow them. They took her too a stone building a motioned for her to enter. Pushing the doors open she found a small castle like inside. She walked until she came to a great room that had one large chair and to medium chairs at the head of the room. Sitting in the large chair was a male Pegasus, he rose when she entered the room. <
br> “My daughter, it is good to see you” he said in a soft voice.
“ Fa-Father?”
“Yes, my name is Wind Drifter.”
“But how?”
“Now that you have found your dragon I can talk with you. Dragons carry a magic in them that we ponies can use from time to time.”
“So is this heaven?”
He chuckled “I don’t know but I will tell you that I belong here.”
“Are the other Triad members here?”
“Yes but you will have to wait to meet them. I brought you here to tell you about our past.”
“Demetrius has told me what he knew.”
“Yes but I want to tell you about me. Come sit with me and I will tell you everything.”

Wrangler walked up to her father and took a sit in the chair next to him. He smiled down at her and she seen hope in his eyes.
“I will start at when I was a young pony, my mother was a Triad member and the most kind hearted pony you would find. I never knew why we didn’t live in the village just that I was not allowed to go there. She would leave each year in the spring but come back in the summer, I found out later this was to see my father.”

“You see after a few years of the Triad reproducing within each other they found out they needed to bring new blood into the line so they would go into the village and find someone to mate with and return with the child. Only to raise him or her in the mountains so that they would be away from the village. At that time the village still feared the dragons and the Triad so they thought it safe to keep us in the dragon’s lair. I never meet my father but I do know he was a good man and that my mother loved him. When she passed away she told me to find someone that would make my heart sing.”

“For a few years I went into the village but I could not find anyone that made my heart sing so I talked it over with the others and decided to try and fine someone from a different land. I was to bring them back with me so the child could grow up in the lair. I am not really sure how I ended up in your world but when I meet your mother my heart sang with love. I courted her for quite a while before she gave me a chance. When I told her about my past and that the child she was caring needed to come back with me she didn’t understand and didn’t want to talk about such things so I decided to let it go for a few days but before I could talk to her again we were attacked by a mountain lion and I lost my life protecting you and your mother.”

“Now that you have found your way to this land and your dragon I can see you again and tell you the things that should have been passed on to you by me. Please do not be afraid of what is happening to you or fight them. I have been watching you from here for some time now and I know your fears. Your changes are coming faster than any other Triad member that has been known. I am not sure why this is but the dragons told me it was foreseen. Always trust your dragon no matter what happens he will always be by your side.”

“Father I am afraid of these changes, I don’t really know how to handle them. Why do I go draconic?”
“That is a mystery to me, this has never happened before. The dragons know about it but for now they will not tell me.”
“Humph. Do all dragons talk in riddles?”
This caused her father to laugh “I get frustrated myself when they do that but it will take some time for you to get use to it.”
“Father, who is your dragon?”
Wind Drifter lowered his head “I did not receive a dragon since I left the land to mate.” He raised his head “but here I get to be with them all.”
“Father what about the Triad?”
“The members are here too.”
“Why can’t I see them?”
“It is not time for you to meet all of them yet.”
She raised an eyebrow at him “You talk in riddles just like the dragons.”
Wind Drifter started laughing “I guess after being here so long you become similar to them.”
“Father, when I change I feel, well, like there is power surging through every part of me. I am afraid that I will hurt someone.”
“Do not let fear consume you, your dragon will teach you how to harness the power within yourself. When you change you and your dragon become one, therefore you share the dragons magic.”
“If this has never happened before how do you know that I wont hurt someone?”
“The dragons have assured me that this is a good thing. Really trust in yourself and your dragon.”
Wrangler walked to a window and looked out at the dragons “It’s so peaceful here.”
“Yes it is. The dragons have found a place to be where no harm will come to them.”
“How is it that no one else knows of this place?”
“The dragons keep it hidden, only the Triad knows where we are.”
“So Ceara and the other member know too?”
“No but in time all three of you will be brought here.” He smiled at her “Enough with all the serious questions, I want to know all about you.”
Wrangler blushed and told her father everything that had happened to her. When she finished she smiled at him, she was so happy to finally get to see him.

“I am glad I go to meet you father, I’ve always wondered what you looked like.”
Wind Drifter puffed his chest out “Handsome I hope.”
This caused Wrangler to giggle “Yes I can see why my mother feel in love with you. I miss her.”
“She knows you are safe and well.”
“You’ve seen her?”
“I let her know you were okay and that she should be proud of our daughter.”
Wrangler blushed again “Thank you”
A rumble was heard of in the distance and Wind Drifter sprinted to the window.

“Is something wrong?” she asked him
“You must go someone has followed you here.”
“But how could they have? I don’t even know how I got here.”

Wind Drifter turned and embraced his daughter “Remember what I have told you here and trust in yourself. I will always be with you in spirit and in your heart. I will call on you again in the future but tell no one you have been here.”

“Can I at least tell them about you?”
“Only those that you know will not betray you.”
Wrangler embraced her father and let a tear fall from here eye. “I love you”
“I love you too”

Slowly he disappeared from her sight once he was gone she started stirring awake. When she was fully awake she grabbed a pillow and started crying into it. The bedroom door opened but she didn’t acknowledge who came in.

“Wrangler, sweetie are you okay?” came Morning Star’s voice as she walked to the bed. “I heard you crying out in the hallway.”
Wrangler looked at her best friend as tears rolled down her face not knowing how to tell her friend what had just happened.

Morning Star climbed onto the bed next to Wrangler and wrapped her arms around her “Ssshhh, its alright. I’m right here.” She started stroking Wrangler’s hair hoping it would calm Wrangler down like it did when her mother stoked her hair.

After a few minutes Wrangler’s breathing evened “Star I meet him tonight.”
“Meet who darlin?”
“My father” Wrangler replied
Morning Star was puzzled “Wrangler what do you mean you meet your father? No one has been in your room.”
“He came to me using the dragon’s magic. I was taken to a place where only the Triad and the dragons inhabit.”
Morning Star didn’t understand what her friend was talking about.
“He was killed back in my homeland before I was conceived.”
“Wrangler I’m sorry” sighed Morning Star
“I only got to be with him for such a short while but it felt like eternity. The place was beautiful and filled with dragons. He said there were other Triad members there but I didn’t meet them. He is so handsome and charming, I can see why my mother feel in love with him.”

Morning Star smiled at the joy in her friend’s voice.
“He told me to trust in myself and in Talis. I plan on from now on to take everything as it comes. I want to make him proud of me.”
“I bet he is proud of you Wrangler, I know I am.”
Morning Star felt something wet hit her leg.
“Our time was cut short though, somehow someone had followed me there and it put everyone in danger so I had to go. I didn’t want to leave him, I wanted to stay with him forever.”
Morning Star continued to stroke her friend’s hair “I bet you will get to see him again. Just have faith that he will contact you again.”

Once her friend’s breaths had evened again she slipped out from under her and headed back to her own room As she closed the door she paused and noticed an eerie green light outside of Wrangler’s window. Calling Kaena she sent her out to see what it was. When Kaena returned she apologized but said that is disappeared when she got near it. Morning Star made a mental note to talk with the guards about this. She closed the door behind her and went back to her room.

………………….. In a castle far away a young Pegasus sat in his father’s throne waiting for someone to return. An eerie green light filled the room disappearing when the pony appeared in front of the Pegasus.

“My lord I bring good and bad news” he stated.
“Go on tell me” huffed the Pegasus.
“She has made contact with her father but sadly they detected me before I could get a lock on the location.”
“You fool! I told you to be careful. Now how am I suppose to get my hands on the dragon’s powers?”
The pony shrank back from the Pegasus “I do bring more good news”
“Yes?!” demanded the Pegasus
“The dragon will be returning to fetch the Triad member, I will follow them and keep watch. Once I can bring you more news I will return, if you need me before then just call for me.” He bowed to the Pegasus waiting to be excused.
“You may go now” He disappeared as Pegasus got up from the throne and walked to a window. “I will have that power for myself and then I will take the Princess’s power from her.” He laughed to himself watching as the moon sat in the sky.

…………………… Wrangler sat up sat straight up in bed with a chilling feeling going through her. For some reason she felt that not only were Talis and herself were in danger but so was Morning Star. She shook the feeling off when Flameblade entered the room.
“Morning” he said to her “are you ready to go down for breakfast?”
“Just let me brush my hair and teeth.”

He nodded at her and waited as she trotted off into the bathroom. She returned quickly and they headed to the dining hall. When they arrived the others were gathering at the table.
“Good morning Wrangler, glad to see you up and about.” Smiled King Bryn
“Where is Queen Fauna?”
“She has taken to her bed, any day now and the prince will be born.”
“If it not a problem I would like to go see her after breakfast.”
“No not at all, it would make her happy to see you. She has been so worried about you. You would think you were her own child and not a visitor.” He smiled at her
“Oh” blushed Wrangler “I don’t mean to be a burden on her majesty.”
“Not at all it’s nice having others here at the castle. Come let’s eat”

Everyone took a spot at the table and breakfast was served to them. They chatted as they ate breakfast about the days events.
“Wrangler I want to assure you that when Talis arrives there will be no harm done. I have taken the liberty of having the mountain boys be the guards today so that everyone will be under there command.”
“Thank you, that means a lot to me and I bet Talis will be too,”
“When does he arrive?” asked Morning Star
“Later this morning” she told her friend “I do have one favor to ask all of you.”
“Yes?” the King Bryn asked
“When he arrives please don’t crowed him, I know it is a shock to most but it makes him uncomfortable with ponies prodding and poking him.”
King Bryn chuckled “Understood”
“Well if we are finished I would like to go see Queen Fauna before Talis arrives. Morning Star would you like to come with me?”

Morning Star looked over at King Bryn waiting for his blessing to join her friend.
“I think the Queen would love seeing both of you” he smiled at them.
“Then we will all meet out in the garden in one hour.”

Everyone one nodded in agreement and sit off to do there own thing until then. Morning Star followed her friend down the hallway to a pair of maple wooden doors. Wrangler knocked on the doors and waited for a reply.
“Come in” came the Queen’s voice.
Wrangler held the door open for Morning Star and once they were both in she closed it behind them.
“Oh it’s so good to see you two. I hate being stuck in here all by myself.”
“How are you doing your highness?” Morning Star asked
“Good but I am ready to bear my child, all this bed rest is aggravating.”
Wrangler and Morning Star giggled at the queen.
“Well not much longer and you will have a handsome baby boy to deal with” smiled Wrangler.
The Queen sighed and smiled “Yes I can’t wait to hold him in my arms.”
“If you don’t mind me asking, What will his name be?” Wrangler asked
“Oh not at all, after a lot of debating with my husband we have decided on Kresimir. It means Cross of peace, I think it suits him well."
"Yes it does, your highness" Morning Star smiled at her.
"Oh Wrangler, please let Talis know I am sorry to have missed him."
"I think he will understand" she smiled at her.
"Well you two should probably be heading out, he should arrive any time now. Please come back and see me soon."
"We will" the girls said in unison.
They turned and left the Queen's bed chambers and headed outside to wait for Talis to arrive. When they entered the garden Ice Crystal approached them.
"Good morning ladies. Wrangler I just wanted to assure you that all the guards have been talked to and no weapons will be presant when Talis arrives."
"Thank you Ice Crystal, I appricate it."
They looked up when they heard Talis roar announcing his return.
"I take it Talis is almost here" King Bryn said behind Wrangler.
"Look" Nxavier pointed to a dragon shadow in the sky.

Talis came through the clouds and circled the castle, once he had slowed down he decended and landed in the garden.
"Little one it is so good to see you." "Same goes for you, I have lots to tell you." "Later, please introduce your friends"

"Everyone this is Talis, Talis this is Nxavier, Silverwind, Blackberry and King Silverwind." as she said there names they bowed to Talis and he bowed his head in return.
"This is King Bryn, he is letting us stay here. Queen Fauna is on bed rest so you wont get to meet her yet."
"A pleasure to meet you" King Bryn bowed to him
"A nice group of friends but I believe you left someone out." "Be patient, silly" "Have her call her phoenix, I would like to meet her too."
"Morning Star please come here."
Morning Star slowly walked up to Talis "Wow he is huge."
Wrangler giggled "Can you call Kaena he would like to meet her too."
"H-how did he know?"
Wrangler just smiled at her friend and waited for her to call Keana.
"Kaena please come meet our new friend"

A red flame appeared and grew into the phoenix, she perched herself next to Morning Star.
"Morning Star, Keana this is Talis."
"Hello old one, I did not realize that your kind still existed. It is a pleasure to meet you." "It is a pleasure to meet you too."
"Wrangler he is magnificent" came Nxavier's voice from behind Talis
Wrangler giggled as Talis hummed in response.
"Little one can you tell Morning Star thank you for me."
"That will not be necassary, I can make it so we can all hear each other."
Kaena glowed a brilliant red color and then slowly went back to normal.
"Wow" the boys gasped.
"You may talk to her now."
"Princess, I wanted to thank you for waking up the Triad blood in Wrangler. If not for you and Kaena's magic I would not have been able to find her."
"Your welcome but I had no idea."
Talis hummed at her and noticed that Wrangler was staring off into the mountains.
"What is it little one?" "I have this feeling we are being watched and I dont like it." "Calm down little one, we dont want a repeat of last time." "Wrangler please dont get upset if there is someone watching the guards would know." "No this pony is covered by magic."
"Ice Crystal can you send some men out to scout the mountains to the west?" Wrangler asked him.
"Of course but may I ask why"
"Let's just say I think we have a unwanted visitor."
King Bryn looked out into the mountains "I dont see anyone."
"You wont they are a magic user and are cloaking themselves." Wrangler was glaring at the mountains.
"Wrangler please stay calm" Flameblade approached her ready for what was about to happen.
"It will take at least a day for my men to reach them, they will be gone before them."
Wrangler stamped her hoof and snorted "That's not good enough!"

Morning Star gasped as a blue fog started to rise from Wrangler's feet and engulfed her. When it disappeared Wrangler stood before them in a dragonic state. She reared back and roared like Talis and took off to the sky.
"Kaena join me now so that I may protect her!" Morning Star yelled as she took off after Wrangler.

She took off into the air with Kaena took off after Morning Star, she stopped right above Morning Star, turned into a light of gold and swooped down into her body. Morning Star's entire body became consumed in flames and she became twice her regulare size as teh flames began to dissolve around her. She was glowing red, her wings were huge and feathery, very different than that of regular pegasus wings. They stretched out at great span, consumed in flames. Her feet were consumed in flames as well. Her eyes were glazed over in gold, no pupils and red and yellow flames were beginning to show. Her long mane and tail were also pure red.

The ponies watched as both the girls took off towards the mountains. Talis lifted himself off the ground carefully and followed after them knowing Wrangler would need him. When they arrived at the mountains Wrangler circled around a small cliff and landed with a loud thud.

"This cant be!" she screamed
"Little one, calm down!"
"How can I calm down when I know something is not right!"
"Wrangler please listen to him, this isnt good for you."
Wrangler snapped her head around and looked at the hovering princess
"Do NOT tell me what to do when our lives are in danger!"
"Dont yell at me Wrangler!"
Talis landed near Wrangler and wrapped his wings around her forcing her to walk to him.
"Calm down, nothing will happen as long as I am with you."
"You dont know that!"
"Where is this coming from?"
"I know what I feel and I know what my father told me!"

Morning Star gasped she had totally forgotten about the events from the previous night. She landed next to Talis and looked at her friend with concern in her eyes.
"Let's return to the castle and then you can explain everything to us."
"I agree with the Princess"
Wrangler looked around one more time and thought to herself (italic) "I will find you and I will stop you!"

She waited for Talis to move his wings and then took off back towards the castle. Once they arrived back she landed in a blue fog walking out to reveal her normal self. After Morning Star and Kanea seperated Wrangler told her friends about the previous night.

"I believe Wrangler, when I was leaving her room I saw an erie green light outside her window."
"You mean someone was on her balcony?" asked King Bryn
"No it was farther away but it gave me the chills."
Talis hummed as he took in the information.
"Little one I think it would be best if we headed back to Demetrius and Ceara. It's time to start your training."
"What about Morning Star? I just got to see her again."
"I will come visit you but Talis is right if there is danger you need to train."
Wrangler looked at her friend with sadness in her eyes.
"We leave tomorrow night that way no one suspects anything."
"We arent going to tell anyone?"
"No, it will be much safer that way."
"Talis, please take Flameblade with you. I know he will help protect Wrangler."
"As you wish Princess."
"Wrangler I will come see you off but keep it a secret that you are leaving"
"Ummm guys" they looked over as the others stared at them with confusion on there faces. They erupted in giggles when they realized that no one could hear them.
"We're sorry" Wrangler said between giggles.
"Is everything okay?" asked King Bryn
"Yes, please forgive me for losing my temper." she looked down at the ground
King Bryn approached her "Don't be it means you have lots of passion in your heart, never lose that."
"Wrangler can I ask a favor?" Morning Star asked
"Sure sweetie"
Morning Star smiled big "Can we go for a ride on Talis's back?"
Wrangler giggled "Of course, climb on up."

Once the girls were settled Talis pushed off the ground and took them for a ride in the sky. He dodged in and out of clouds and took them higher than there own wings would allow. When they came back to the castle the sun was setting behind the mountains.

"Will you be okay out her in the garden by yourself?"
"Yes, sleep well tonight little one."
The girls disappeared into the castle to climb into bed, exhausted from the days events.
