Chapter 14- The Void

Wrangler was telling Morning Star how beautiful the sun sent was, “Its beauti...” Wrangler’s eyes fluttered and the world went black around her. She could feel herself falling not knowing if anyone could hear her if she called out.

“Help me! Someone please!”
Slowly she felt herself stop and she sighed in relief she tired opening her eyes but couldn’t. After a short while she felt her body tingle and slowly stop.

“Hello can anyone hear me?”
No response came and she sighed to herself. Looking around she noticed she was in a black void.
“I wonder if I am dead.” she thought to herself
Out of nowhere she heard Morning Star’s voice “Forgive me Wrangler, I don’t like doing this but I can hear you calling for help.”
Wrangler gasped as soon as she realized that Morning Star’s telepathic powers had made her able to hear her.

“Wrangler please can you hear me?”
“Morning Star is that you?”
“Yes, Please tell me what happened.”
“I don’t know, I just blacked out.”
“Follow my voice come towards it.”
“I don’t know how.”
“Just follow my voice, it will lead you back to me.”

All of a sudden a green light appeared and Wrangler jumped back to avoid being hit by it. She lowered herself to what she thought was the ground and sighed not knowing if she would ever be free. It seemed like an eternity when she heard Morning Star again, “I promise to help you, just have faith in me.”

“Morning Star I do have faith in you, please help me.”

She sat back down and wrapped her wings around herself. A small light appeared in the distance becoming larger as ti came closer.

“W-w-w hose there?” her voice shook.
“Do not be afraid of me, Little one.” came a deep voice.

Wrangler jumped up and looked around her trying to find the pony or thing that the voice was coming from. A large set of eyes appeared before her, she screamed and started shaking.

“Please I am not here to harm you.”
“Then who are you?”
“It is not time for me to reveal who I am just yet.”
“Can you tell me why I am here?”
“I am not sure, there are many things going on right now.”
“Please if you mean me no harm help me get out of here.”
“I will try my best but I don’t know how much I can do.”
“Where you the thing that sent Morning Star away.”
“Yes I did not know she was here to help you until after she had left.”
“May I know your name?”
“It is Talis.”
“My name is Wrangler, like you didn’t already know that.” she blushed.
“Indeed I did but thank you for being brave enough to tell me.”
“Where are you from?”
“A land far away but yet still near.”
“Huh? That’s confusing.”
The voice chuckled “Yes it is.”
“Why can’t you show yourself to me? Are those your eyes?”
“It is not time for me to fully awake and yes those are my eyes.”
Wrangler sighed in relief “That makes them not so scary.”
“That is good, I did not mean to scare you. Please forgive me but I wanted to see you.”
“Oh it’s okay but maybe next time a little warning.”
The voice chuckled again “Okay, I promise”
“Can you tell me anything about yourself?”
“Not right now but in due time all will be revealed.”
“Ugh more vague answers” sighed Wrangler. “Well hopefully it’s soon cuz you have gotten me very curious.”
“That’s good you should be. I believe it is time for you to awaken.”
“Wait will I ever see or hear you again?”
“Soon Little one, soon.”

With a streak of green light the eyes disappeared and Wrangler could hear Morning Star’s voice again.

“Wrangler are you there?”
“Yes I can hear you.”
“Stay where you are, I am sending Kaena to find you.”

Wrangler looked around for Kaena, she had never seen her but Morning Star had describe Kaena to her. A red glow was coming towards her, the closer it got it took on the shape of flames and then a bird.

“Kaena?”
“Yes Wrangler. Please hold still for me.”
Kaena wrapped her wings around Wrangler and then called out to Morning Star with her mind “We are ready.”

Slowly Wrangler felt her body rising and she felt like a floating feather again. She sent a bright pink light in the horizon and smiled knowing it was Morning Star’s mind reaching out to hers. Her eye lids started to drooped and she felt like she was falling asleep.

“Wrangler open your eyes.”
She slowly opened her eyes, blinking a few times “M-M-Morning Star?”
“Oh Wrangler, we did it!” Morning Star wrapped her arms around her friend. “Don’t you ever leave me again.” She pulled back and tears were falling down both of their faces.
“Okay, I’ll try.”
Wrangler looked up to find Kaena hovering above her bed. “Thank you.”
“Your welcome but Morning Star and I were not the only ones involved.”

Wrangler turned to find her room full of ponies, the King and Queen were at the foot of her bed. Turning she found Flameblade and Eclipse on her left side smiling at her. There was a light tap on her shoulder and Morning Star moved so Oracle was visible.

“Thank you all” she smiled at them.
“Good to have you back safely dear, you had us all very worried.” Rainsong smiled at her.
“It’s good to be back.” Wrangler replied.
“You’ll have to tell us all about it but perhaps tomorrow.” Oracle spoke up.
“Yes it’s getting late” commented Flameblade.
“Wrangler will you be alright by yourself?” Morning Star asked her.
Wrangler smiled at her friend “Yes I don’t think I will be going anywhere.”
“Okay sleep tight then.” Morning Star smiled sleepily at her.
“I think we all deserve a good night’s sleep.” Eclipse yawned.
“I will come get you in the Morning.” Morning Star told Wrangler “Sleep tight.”
“Okay goodnight everyone.”
“Good night” they said in unison.

They all started out the door each heading off to there rooms for the night. Wrangler laid back and stared at the ceiling, it was nice having others care about her. She slowly drifted off to sleep with a smile on her face.
